was called "Shazam" or something like it. That was the genie's name.
In the original, the genie always punished the bad guys by doing harmless little things to them like causing their feet to stick to the ground so they couldn't move, or some other dumb thing. You were always left with the impression that the genie was a big wuss. The kids and the flying camel were also a part of the cartoon. To get the joke, you have to remember the old cartoon. Is there some hidden meaning to this version... probably. My luck, he's the genie I'd end up getting when I rubbed the lamp. |

...actually. The genie's lame wisecracks about the punishment must have been part of the show, too.
I think the poster who says it's a comment on torture is on to something.
I found it disturbing too. Skillfully done, but disturbing. But I guess that means it was effective.
