Message: Sandy Freeman was indeed on in the early 80's, I think she came after Lee. Burt Reinhart came after Reese, after Reese took things down the drain (but you would never know that from his book). And Ted Kavanau was indeed known for having a pistol - even though I never saw it. Kavanau was horrible to work for, mainly for the fact that he was nuts. He went apeshit over the early union drive, and would behave in very strange ways around CNN and Headline News (CNN2 at the time). In the early days we would sometimes have satellite failures. Once Murph was directing and the satellite went down. Kavanau stormed out of his office and yelled at Murph "you were directing the last time the satellite went down!" And he was not kidding. I won't bore you with the rest of his wacky behavior, but sad to say he was older (in his 40's) and should have known better. His punishment of the union organizers was just one example. Instead of getting up and telling everyone "hey, we had a professional disagreement and it's over" when NABET failed, he and his staff set out to ruin the careers of anybody that was a union supporter. Even CNN got tired of him after awhile, and when Paul Amos took over headline news it was toast after toast at the Stein Club. I never saw such a party thrown together in just an hour or so!
