Who can deny this? They ran with this story b/c they want to hurt the Bush administration and hurt America's image. PEOPLE DIED! OK, can we think about this...people died because Newsweek said that US guards flushed the Koran down a toilet...whoops, never really happened. Too late now, sorry. |

that is neither left, right or center and it all too typical of this once-exemplary industry.
It is sloppy,lazy reporting. The kind practiced by far too many on this board if posts like the one that commnced this thread.
'Tis far too easy for far too many of you to seek a stupid political reason for why far too many reporters in this industry just can't do proper sourcing for stories anymore.
Let them be anonymous, let them be one, let them be nothing more than a press release churned out by political hacks and gobbled up by media hacks.
It is depressing, it is happening with alarming regularity and it has nothing to do with politics-other than provide red meat for the idiot right and the idiot left to harp and point and do whatever is possible to make certain we trust NO ONE in the news industry.
It was something I was proud to be a part of at one time.
