In Reply To: My point was that news outlets in both print and TV will, in my opinion, rush to get an anti-bush, anti-USA, anti-troop piece out to the public and seem to squash any good news or positive reviews of the president or our troops. Cases in point: this Koran story, the zeal in covering the Abu Graib abuses, the Bush national guard story, the "terrible" economy all the time, I can go on and on. It is very very rare that you hear anything at all that is remotely encouraging from the press and they just LOVE to tear down the president and the war on terror. Journalists are supposed to be unbiased and objective, they're not supposed to encite riots which is what Newsweek did and they should hang their heads in shame.
Message: This White House doesn't need a sympathetic ear in the media. It already has a track record of bribing some reporters with taxpayer money, browbeating others, and pointedly refusing to call on still others it doesn't like at White House news conferences. Oh, and did I mention the neo-con penchant for stacking the White House press corps with stoolie reporters (right wing bloggers) who are always called on to give pro-Bush diatribes? And you actually think the problem is a liberal bias in the media?
