The liveshot is not about "quick bulletpoints." It's not just a "quick toss" to pkg.
The liveshot is all about you - the reporter - live in the field.
I'm the viewer, and I want you to "take me there". Show me the stage, and explain to me why you are actually life.
For some liveshots, this can be a more challenging (at times) than others, but always keep it in mind.
You are the authority in the field, so just tell me what's going on. Tell me like you're telling a friend, but make sure you're telling me the story in your own voice.
Lose the "voice of God" act, and the "quick, random bulletpoints" concept. Just be yourself, and set the stage for me. |

I hate when reporters try to justify their lives, when it's nothing more than a dog lick. We will do lives in front of the skline, because we logistically can't do a live where we're supposed to. "The skies are clear over the city tonight, but over in Bumfuck, it was a different story". That's what the producer wants.
