One post says 29 or 30 is a good mark for whether to get out of the biz. What do you think? |

Not everyone defines "success" the same way. Not everyone wants to be in a top 5 or top10 or even top 20 market. Some just want to be in the market they grew up in, whatever the size. I do agree that if you have what it takes, you'll know it early, from others around you, the response from the public, and whether you truly love what you're doing.
Most on-air talent starts in small market because that's where you learn the job. It's like teaching; you can't learn how to teach from a textbook, you just gotta do it and get better.
If you're not happy, or feel that tv, especially on-air, is not for you, the sooner you get out, the better off you'll be.
