You know, BeeV sounds harsh, but she's right. |

If you're really going to make it, you'll know right away. Male or female - if you've got what it takes, you'll stand out, shoot up, and from Day One the people around you, like you or hate you, will know you're special.
And BranJadina, Sweetie - all this, "You're really great but you need to go to a smaller market to get more reporting experience before I can put you on the air..." Bullshit. I guess it depends on where you were working when you were told that - but that line just sends my bullshit detector into a beeping tizzie.
The biggest favor an ND can do for someone he truly believes isn't in the right field is to tell them straight up.
Obviously men have a much, much larger window. But if you're a woman - I agree with BeeV. If you aren't well, well on your way by 30, get out.
And don't look back or feel bad about it. Just think - you're giving yourslf an opportunity to choose a career that will leave you feeling valued and good about yourself. I don't know why any woman in this day & age would get into TV news.
