of how far mass media journalism has slid under the current and recent past generation of managers. The industry is in serious need of overhaul. It needs to stand up and be a watchdog--not cower under pressure from big government and big business--and yes, get its facts straight. |

I don't see the problem with the media being that it cowers to big government and big business. The problem is that it IS big business, driven by the bottom line instead of journalistic integrity.
