all I saw on morning television was game shows. Family Feud.. Card Sharks.. Sale of the Century.. Press Your Luck.. and of course The Price is Right.
Today only Jeopardy and The Price is Right have survived. Why have game shows died and does anyone here think they'll ever make a comeback? I mean.. I realize that every other person in the free world has a tv talk show now.. but can you see game shows making a comeback? |

has changed. Game shows started to disappear when their viewers vanished.
I saw some focus group responses that indicated that some of the shows were too complicated for them. It was easier to watch Jerry Springer,Montel or Maury. No questions to answer and that reassuring feeling that at least the totally disfunctional person on Springer isn't me.
Look at "Who wants to be a millionare"...ABC banked on it having staying power. It didn't. It's struggling in syndication. And if it's any indication, The questions could have been answered by anyone who paid even just a little attention through the 5th or 6th grade. Feud is still in syndication but has trouble geting scheduled in viewer friendly time periods.
And compared to talkers, gamers are expensive to produce.
