i heard her year contract at nbc was up, but that if she signed a new contract, she could be assigned anywhere (including the states) and since she's settled in italy, it was a better deal for her to sign with cnn so she can stay with her husband at their home. looks like she was one of the smart people in this business that wasn't willing to sacrifice her home life / lifestyle just to stay in a particular job.
