Only caught him a handful of times when I was in town visiting family... seemed like a good, solid anchor to me.
One thing I've resented a little bit as the years have gone on... you almost have to have a schtick to be a sports guy any more. The guys (and gals cuz there are some out there) who just presented the sports in a nice, clean manner are now considered too vanilla, not cutting-edge.
From my limited experience watching Ty, that seemed to be him. Good, solid shows every time, but he didn't fall back on the catchy lingo or crutch-phrases-- I liked that about him. If I wanted a comedy routine, I'd rent a Robin Williams DVD.
