Even if a station has number one rated newscasts for years.. eventually they drop to number two or three. It's usually a combination of factors. But quick or sweeping moves by impatient greedy managers can start the ball rolling..then it's all downhill from there. It's rare that you can stop the downward momentum.. because more often than not a competitor is watching and learning what NOT to do. Good luck to any station that's in a downward spiral. The main cause is usually pilot error. Message: did not kill himself.
