It's on a leash, and has been for quite some time. What TV presents as "news" is really an informational and pictoral illusion created by the established powers which include, of course, big media. Hyperfocus on celebrity criminal trials, freak side shows, sex and violence helps distract public attention from what's really going on in society: consolidation and centralizationg of government power and big business, the move toward a one-world government in which ruling elites control the economy, and Amercia's evolution to a socialist state. Keep your eye on the ball, sleuths.
