I to used to work in the QC,I found it as a good place to work also, KWQC is the leader, but is lacking in the new tools for the business,ie:still editing tape to tape, i believe no editors in the live trucks,Anchors have been at the station forever.WQAD,owned by the New York Times, good place to work i hear, very aggressive, they just got a sat truck, all the new toys in the newsroom, win alot of awards, great photog staff, and senior reporters to learn from. WHBF, all one man band, they try very hard but is a very distant third, owner sucks and doesnt put much into the station. The FOX station, dont know much about, only have one newscast, Sunday thru Friday. I found the QC a great place to start.lots of news, very competitive, lots of things to do every weekend, from May to about Nov. then the winter sets in. Cost of housing good, really not all bad, I think calling it a dump and to stay away is much to harsh!! |

whoever says anything good about the q-c obviously hasn't spent much time elsewhere. it's a miserable market filled with miserable "lifers" who were constantly trying to bring down those of us who were only there for the short-term.
go there only at your own risk and prepared for the worst time of your life
