Both you and pro-duce have made valid points and reasonable statements that need to be spoken out loud.
Let a reporter do the job. Soar or fail on their own accord. as long as they are communicating with the desk and the producers, there is no harm, no foul. |

I know that joke that goes around every newsroom, "we work in the communications business, how come nobody's communicating"?
Just read the posts on this thread. The typical responses are coming from, what I guess are, the typical people. If there is true communication in your newsroom then this isn't a problem. Everyone, seemingly, knows the problem. So if you have a newsroom full of reasonable people than this is not an issue.
My opinion is that, mostly, suckholes get management positions. Ultimately managers run the joint so...
