It is either a conflict of interest or a perceived one.
Many anchors reporters say "I could still cover a company I did voice over work for without any problems." But it's the way the public would see it, when a newspaper reporter finds out your taking a paycheck from the power company to do corporate videos--- I'd really advise against moonlighting-- I know it's done, there are people at my shop who have done it-- But to me it's just not worth it...
