In Reply To: KTRK is solid in the mornings and midday, ahead at 4pm, but ch 2 has had some good days. Ch 11 is first at 5pm, but 13 had a big day Wedesday, so that will probably be down to the wire. ch 11 is ahead at 6pm and 10pm. ch 13 had come in third at 10pm the last three days after a relatively strong start. SamAdams, the woman you're talking about is Rachel McNeil, who normally anchors on the weekends. Very solid.
Message: Chubby Bubby is what I call the news here. Anyone in the know, realizes that Houston has been labeled the "Fattest city" by a leading magazine. Some of the local news stations here are indicative of that fact! Especially KTRK, the so-called news leader. Channel 13 perhaps represents the overweight population by employing the solvenly, overweight newscasters. These journalist would never make it in New York, Chicago or Los Angeles. Perhaps in radio, they'd be okay. This is a VISUAL MEDIUM and let's face it...when you're extremely overweight, it distracts from the news you're delivering. I moved here a few months ago from the NorthEast and I'm really disappointed in the local news here. The Best in Houston, is KHOU at 5PM and 10PM. Lisa and Greg are the only local anchors who could make it in any other to 10 market. Being a slob doesn't cut it.
