...don't simply revoice someone else's story. That's not reporting, it's plagiarism, and it's not gonna help you learn to actually DO the work.
When your shift is over, volunteer to go on VOSOT patrol, then come back and WRITE them. Volunteer to field produce and anchor pack, then come back and WRITE it. Then, and only then, do you need to worry about getting your standups shot and your face on a tape.
I worked a morning shift, then worked for off the clock when it was over, whatever they would let me do. Came in on weekends. Became a photographer's best friend. Eventually, I was a good writer and reporter, AND had a good tape.
Do the work; the rest will come. |

....here's hoping you get ahead in this biz. You've shown you're not only driven, but committed. You realize this isn't just about "face time" and when you can shoot a stand-up. You've actually DONE THE WORK! Good for you!
And great advice, too. Revoicing is just plagerizing and doesn't show what you can do.
