just one more thing about abc40.
after being beat by kcen/kmay (which does not have bryan news with the exception of waco reporters who go there when they can't find stories) for a long time - the last few books have been better for krhd - no where near kbtx, but the station has made some strides and is beating kcen's centex newscast in the brazos valley.
also, those guys work hard and do a good job with what they have. |

BCS is a tough place to live if you're not in college. There's nothing to do down there other than bars and A&M football games.
News-wise, KBTX is really your option. It's the only full-time news op in Bryan and the only station with any resources or viewers. ND is Mike Barger. He's a good guy who'd be grateful for anyone with experience. I think they have a reporter opening advertised right now too. But be prepared. The pay is very low (upper teens) and you're working with a very young green staff. Mostly recent A&M grads.
