a sports radio show in addition to doing the TV thing. And every week I talk with other sportscasters around the country who tell me that either..
*their station isn't paying for them to cover their home team on the road even though they've been covering everything about them all season long.
*every night the News Director takes more and more time from them.
*they're losing their six o'clock sportscast completely.
As someone who has worked in market 165.. I fully understand how "backyard sports" is something that can be treated as important as news. But I feel that the markets who sit between... MAJOR LEAGUE TEAM CALIBER and SMALL TOWN WITH ONE TEAM THAT EVERYONE CARES ABOUT.. are fighting nightly just to have a decent time for their sports.
Anyone in a midsized market that can back me on this?

I get 3 minutes at 6, 4 minutes at 10, but more often than not they ask ME to fill more time, and usually will let me do 4:30 or 5 during the week at the drop of a hat if I ask. Of course, on big sweeps nights, I give back whatever they need as well.
