all of you who are in a TV sports department around this country.
Does anyone in this country get more than three minutes for sports in any newscast MON thru FRI? At six.. how many of you don't even have a sportscast anymore?
I think local sports is fading and I think.. unless there's a big event in town.. News Directors are trying to diminish the importance of sports in a newscast. |

i work in a top 25 market and we get 3 minutes at both 6 & 11pm, but we get even more if we need it. Plus, we do reports in the 5pm story when needed. We have a big time pro team here in town and high school sports are every big, so we are given more time when needed. Sports is still a big deal in some parts of the country because it can draw viewers -- and that's all that counts in the news game.
