3:00 at 11 is pretty much standard |

The big station tends to give sports 4:00 at 11pm -- and between 4-5 minutes on weekends.
At 6pm, I think it's 3:00-3:30 -- but I haven't put a stopwatch on it lately. :-->

Especially during a book.
In my mid-major market...the top two stations both get the same time at 6 and 11. The #3 gets less time, and it shows.
I agree totally with the previous poster about making local sports more "big league". It works, and can build a following if done in a creative and energetic way.
Plus, if you can get yourself a couple of sponsored segments, you start making "found" money that the news department can't generate.
