KTRK kicks tail in the morning. The question should always be "Who's second in the morning?" There is no way any other station will, in the next decade, beat ABC13 in the morning. But, what's up with KPRC? Their 5am doesn't even register in the ratings on some days. AND THAT'S NO JOKE! KHOU is on the rise in the morning. It just needs some fine tuning and lose some of the fluffy stuff.
Evenings - 13 looks great. Just like their slogan, "They are everywhere you want them to be!" I don't know why 11 is winning anything. They do so many feature type stories. They used to be as strong as 13. But, I have to give them credit for that investigation into military recruiting. Their NEW investigative reporter broke that. That reminded me of the kickass KHOU the station used to be right before sweeps. Now, they're going with light and happy news lately. Aren't they under new mgmt? KPRC is a joke. They did a good job the first few days of the book. Then, they went back to their old ways. Last night they did a pkg on strippers and one on their ugly dog and how much weight he "DIDN'T lose" in some doggie weight challenge.
KRIV at night needs to just get rid of their talent. They are awful. They're so damn stiff and the writing sucks. Bring in some writing coaches and new talent. The morning team looks pretty good and has put a dent in the morning race. It's beating KPRC. Their format changes too much. They need to find something and stick with it. |
