Previous poster was correct -- it doesn't matter that the interviewer was a NEWS DIRECTOR and no one disclosed that -- though they still should have.
The breach of ethics was having Kamal's close personal friend do the interview, and then label it as journalism. JOURNALISM has at its core, a "lack of bias." Yes, an unbiased, dispassionate viewpoint (third party) to give viewers the assurance that they're watching a fair and balanced story (no Fox ref. intended here) in which the storyteller has no personal stake. (And that counts the reporter, who is beholden to the News Director for a paycheck, and therefore, subject to his wishes.)
To have someone's best friend do a softball interview ("PR piece") is glaringly one-sided, and should not pass for JOURNALISM.
That is why mentioning WHO did the interview is important in this case (because it is Kamal's best friend) -- so viewers can decide for themselves if they're getting a fair and balanced story... i.e. the truth. They might think differently about the credibility of the story if they know the interviewer is a close personal friend of Kamal's, and therefore, not unbiased in this case.
Lay it all out, let the viewer decide. |

they should have disclosed Pohovey did the interview just because he's the news director? I didn't write that. I asked if they disclosed Pohovey did the interview and pointed out that they didn't on the website.
Oh, and "grow up?" Yeah, that's real mature.
