anchors simply need to do more with their time! (especially in the big markets) be honest.. many sit around all shift.. barely lifting a finger.. and often complaining. why can't they write more.. put a package together themselves.. hey, how about making a few beat calls since they're even "so well known" by those in "grocery stores". let's be real. they get paid a lot.. and do little for it! and if they're so popular.. then why is it many change stations and it brings little ratings change. it's all about "lead ins" these days.. and how well a newscast is put together! |

Anchors are paid to be multi taskers...not only are they to look GREAT every night but also read it well give the story emotion and be funny and whitty and serious in one fell swoop!
It's certainly not your typical 9-5 job but the pressure is all at once and to be honest it's more stress than someone who sit's at a desk all day and punches numbers or writes text.
They are paid for being on TV period. IF you don't like it then get out of biz or be an anchor yourself. You'll soon learn it's more than what you think!
