So, you have to tough it out talking to a few lame people who think you are a movie star in the grocery store?
Hmm.. what a pity.
I'd much rather be working 5 hours on a show before you walk in and start moaning about the writing.
Then, I'd much rather write another 2 hours before the show and booth a 30 minute program with multiple live shots that I constructed through my already 8 hour day.
Then have a post show meeting where the anchor continue to moan and the news director takes your side.
Yes... I'd MUCH rather have my job than yours where you have to fake a smile and do a "stop and chat."
Tough life.

To poster9 and all of you others who "bitch" about anchors...lazy & otherwise. sign30 explained it perfectly. You want to gripe ? Take it up with Management. All the anchors do is say "yes" when negotiating, just like you behind-the-sceners do. Don't like your deal ? Get a better one - or go sell insurance.
Anchors are paid more because they are THE representatives of EVERY station, like it or not ! Talk to any focus group, or any viewer and ask them what Channel they watch. 90% of the time, they say "I like Mary" or "I only watch John" or whomever. It's about the personalities FAR MORE than ANY other person, including upper level management at EVERY station.
It's up to the anchors to act professionally, don't flaunt their positions, treat everyone well and keep the ratings up or - hit the bricks too. The "Jealousy & Envy"-thing toward anchors is SOOOOOOO tired....
