In fact, NBC boilerplate language gives the network a window every four weeks. Now that's harsh.
And no, talent rarely has the chance to use a window the same way management can.
Just live with it. And get used to it. |

Yes, these cycles are common in the business. I've had 30 and 60 day notices early on. Then I've had 90 days.
Depending on how much leverage you have you may be able to get these cycles eliminated or stretched longer than one year.
Remember, they can always take you off the air and even tell you to never come back as long as they pay you. I've never had a contract that didn't say something like paying me fulfilled their obligation.
My advice, not worth bringing this up until its time to negotiate another contract. If you want out and have not "outs" in the contract, you can ask, but no guarantees.
