I'm in my first job, under contract as a reporter. I was too starry-eyed when I started to have a lawyer look at my contract. Yes, I know... mistake. My question: in my contract, my employer can fire me without cause with 90 days notice... or on the spot with 90 days pay. A colleague tells me this could be challenged in court should I attempt to get out of my contract, because I have no similar option. What are your thoughts? And don't just say something sarcastic, please. I'm serious. |

Doesn't sound like unusual language for a starting reporter. A lawyer or agent would've tried to get you some firm time even if the cycles were relatively short.
