If we do the math on that, you make about 175k a year. Of course, then, $7000 doesn't seem like a lot to you.
But to those of us making under 40k, it's a WHOLE LOT of money!
Shop around to your favorite attorneys. Ask their hourly rate, and try to keep them to a set number of hours. Some might, all you can do is ask. |

I'm a former sportscaster-turned-attorney, and part of my practice is negotiating new or renewal contracts, along with other "agent-like" services.
I charge an hourly fee that's less than half of my hourly fee as a litigator, plus a flat percentage contract fee -- both are capped, so you know the absolute maximum you'd pay up front.
I've negotiated deals for anchors in Detroit, Miami, Nashville and Philadelphia in the last year and no one's paid me more than about 5 grand.
I'm definitely willing to work with the individual, depending on current income and the particular job, to find a fee that works for both of us.
If anyone's interested, drop me an email - tvcontract@yahoo.com. I'd love to talk about how I can help you.
Thanks.
