If you are still where you interned then try to tag along with a reporter for a few days, ask the photographer to shoot you some stand ups and seek the help of an editor.
If you were a good intern and made some friends at the station it shouldn't be a problem. They may be a bit busy for the next couple of weeks with sweeps, but maybe you can do it on the weekends.
If you did a good job they'll want to help you. |

The internship is over and they weren't real supportive as far as doing outside stuff. I was seen as too ambitious or assertive even if I stayed glue to the desk most of the time. Because I met some contention in the first semester and was a good intern they let me stay a second semester under a different shift and different assignment editor who seemed nice but wasn't real helpful so they looked at my desire to break away from the assignment desk negatively despite being told that I would only be on the desk a month when I first hired as an intern. So, I'd rather exercise other options which is hard since I live in a top ten market.
