In Reply To: say that SNL is any good right now? Are you supporters just trying to get a reaction. Except for presidential impersonations.. the writing and the acting has gone to hell. Maya Rudolph is talented but seems to get added to some terribly written skits. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler aren't funny anymore on Weekend Update because the humor is terrible. They need to start by firing every single writer they have other than Tina Fey. Then they can work on the crappy cast. In the old days.. a guest host would add to the talent. Now they need a guest host who can BRING THE TALENT. Thank God for Will Ferrell this week
Message: The very opening moments, when Paula appeared on camera saying "What you're about to see is a reenactment of some events of this week's biggest news story ... " then they went into the Fallen Idol sketch. It took all the bite out of the sketch. They should have just done the sketch without that useless intro and then have Paula come in at the end as they did. They just sucked all the wind out in the very first few moments. I love SNL (even through the rough years) but they really blew that one!
