Aparently they don't want to lay people off (too much severance) so they're letting people out of their contracts if they want out. They are aparently not even enforcing "no compete" clauses. The photographers are freaked....the editors are without words....and the reporters are scrambling to call their agents. Honestly they wierdest day of my career!!! |

I moved to San Francisco in 1973 and watching Channel 4 and NBC was probably the highlight of great late night primetime television. That trend continued into the 80's and 90's KRON was always the number one station in the Bay Area.
Then the disaster of the century happened with the Chronicle mess and the Young Broadcasting purchase. We lost one of the best stations this city ever had and we lost NBC.
Now I really feel for those dedicated news, weather and sports people who are going through this crap - they just don't deserve it. They have provided this area with the finest coverage, presentation and professional showmanship all be to destroyed by this fly by night looser of a company.
