This could be for DIV and XYZ and FOX for that matter.
Try doing REAL NEWS.
People don't care about the latest random shooting on the west side.
4's BREAKING NEWS ALERTS are about pointless anymore.
People don't care about an accident that happened 10 hours ago and injured no one just because the VO is decent.
Try REAL NEWS.
Perhaps then, people would watch again.
It's a matter of time before XYZ self destructs into the same pattern.
It's happening already.
the latest incident on the scanner WILL NOT BUY YOU VIEWERS.
Most markets aren't this crazy.
You'd never get away with this "news" coverage in Seattle.
Much more high brow.
Clearly, Detroit caters to the lowest common denominator.
So, I doubt its all Goldstein's fault. He just covers what everyone else does.
God forbid XYZ and DIV don't have the same story of the car that hit a pothole.

What's the real deal with a rumored viewer boycott? Right after Emery King was booted there was a lot of talk about people not watching. What's happened with that? I had heard the numbers were way down because people are mad about him being taken off the air. Does anybody know what's really going on? Did it ever exist, or if it did has it ended? Is there any way to tell for sure?
