How "Eyewitness News will change FOREVER starting Monday?
(That would be Johniie Mountain's first weekday at KCBS.)

I truly hope KCBS will finally
regain the number one position
in L.A.
Maybe not this book... but with J.M. changing channels
I can't imagine KABC will sit comfortable like it has.
Even KNBC could be showing signs of stress.
Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed ABC7, but I think it's time KCBS shakes up the market. Remember the last time KCBS formally KNXT channel 2 news was number one on a consistant basis was back in the 1960's until 1974!
The late Jerry Dunphy was doing well... but for the first time ratings weren't consistant.
Then in 1975 management made the mistake to let him go.
He went to KABC and then the domino effect...KNXT tanked.
I think after 31 years KCBS is now poised to gain viewers and to have the news directors and G M's at 4 and 7
sweating bullets.
How will they answer this dilema?
