...that 3 of the first 6 posts were deleted, I'd guess this isn't the place to discuss this kind of thing. |

There are two sides to the addiction theory whatever you abuse.
1. If you is, you is and there is nothing you can do except quit forever.
OR:
2. You have the power to adjust your life and do what you need to do to stop problem behaviors ie, booze, drugs, sex, tobacco, food, tv, gambling, whatever. For instance, if you are a sex addict or a food addict you cut down, but dont quit. for some reason if you abuse booze you have to quit forever. Doesnt make sense to me.
I think for many people its a mix of 1 & 2.
You need to stop and take a time out, then when/if you start again you need to be in control.
Most people, including me, who have been to rehab for whatever reason have had some awful thing happen to them prior to the problem behavior.
Trust me, all those sweet innocent kids who went to Iraq are going to come back with all sorts of problems... coincidence? i dont think so . i was a high school champ before i went to Vietnam.
I quit my issue for 10 years, now i do it occasionally, with no problems.. BUT EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT.
