Does anyone have insight on how to break into freelance reporting at any of the Chicago stations?
And, which stations use freelancers the most?

chicago has gone freelance/per diem crazy and it's horrible...They will freelance you to death and never give you any benefits (health insurance, disability) etc. In addition, freelancing has become so prevalent in Chicago that market veteran reporters of 20 years or more are having to freelance..can't get staff gigs....
It's a sad situation....
