That my thoughtful, somewhat interesting post got deleted. I did not call anyone names, I did not bash anyone, I did not say Medialine's better than TVspy, nothing like that...so...what's the deal? Ah, the hell with it. |

If the film was good there would be no debate. If this was a story of a 17 year old kid who produced a film that was winning the praise of critics, then I wouldn't care that Mr. Williams and Mr. Smilovitz were friends.
But the film is what it is; a project of a high school student. Go and watch it, it's onthe nightly news site. Judge for yourself.
I watched it after the story aired because I was thinking it had to be good. What I saw on line offended me not only as a working journalist but as someone who loves documentaries. As a film it was so bad that my first thought was that Bernie must have given Brian some money in order to air this tribute to his son. I mean, I know that didn't happened,but it is so bad that the thought actually went thru my mind.
To really understand how unethical Williams' actions were you have to watch the film.
