Cut your salary figures in half and you'll be in the ballpark. There's maybe one anchor in this market who's doing more than 100K. Reporters earn from 25K to 50K, give or take a few thousand and regardless of the station. I find it hard to believe that anyone was offered a B team anchor slot at any station in this market for 85K. |

thanks for the reply. I called my friend and he corrected me on the offered salary. It was $65k in year 1, then low 70s in years 2 & 3. My mistake. That offer, by the way, was in 1997. Pretty good coin for Portland almost 10 years ago. I remember one popular feature reporter (who has since died) was getting almost $100k in Portland. Really.
