the kid did a very good piece on the holocaust, which is in the news because this is a special week of observance. The fact Williams knows the kid's father is irrelevant. No scandal whatsoever.
My parents were visiting San Francisco when the 89 quake hit. I didn't think twice about interviewing mom for a piece to be aired on our college radio station. No one on the paid full-time NPR-affiliated staff said anything to me about a possible conflict of interest.
I agree about Williams' somewhat forced delivery. Given Brokaw's style, which remains fodder for morning zoo shows, Jennings' Canadian
upbringing, Rather's uneasiness(Wallace and Rooney commented on it) and odd start-stop pattern of reading, one may to go back to Walter Cronkite when considering the "sitting next to you in a room" factor.
That was at least until Mr. Schieffer had a seat.

It was a story for Holocaust Remembrance Day. A story would have been done, so how many of you out there have used your friends in pkgs. and whatnot--it's fine as long as it pertains to the story -- And it did!
