Reopening Atlanta's Missing & Murdered Cases |

Fox 5 Atlanta has to be given credit for breaking a very important, compelling story Thursday night.
Fox 5 reported that newly installed DeKalb County Police Chief, Louis Graham, was re-opening four (actually five) of Atlanta's infamous 29 "Missing and Murdered Children's Cases."
Graham was an original member of the police task force which investigated these crimes, from 1979-1981, resulting in the arrest and conviction of Wayne Williams. Graham says that he has long held the belief that Williams is innocent of committing any of the murders and that the police task force botched the investigation. Many parents of the victims have never believed that Williams killed their children.
Curiously, Fox 5 remains the ONLY Atlanta station to report this significant development. The story has been ignored by WXIA and Cox owned WSB-TV. The Cox owned, Atlanta Journal-Constittion, has also ignored the story.
During the height of the murders, the Regan Administration sent 200 FBI agents to Atlanta in attempts to solve the murders. (Murder is not a federal crime.) A world wide press corps covered the murders and Wayne Williams' trial.
WSB-TV and the Atlanta Journal have long supported the City of Atlanta and the State in their prosecution of Williams. They have, steadfastly, ignored new, exculaptory evidence developed through the years. Shame on them.
