In Reply To: I worked at DIV for quite a long time. I never loved the place, but made the most of the experience and moved on to bigger and better things. It's a shame to hear that things are in such disarray there, but I don't for a second regret going for a second. The place has always had problems, but also always had that ineffable something that made you feel like you were part of something big, something good, something that made a difference. I don't blame the XYZ'ers on this board for bashing Local 4. They were in the toilet long enough to form a coffee clatch with the Tidy Bowl Man. I seem to remember the days when they were going through news directors the way most of us change our underwear, long term EP's and other higher ups being fired, stories of crying staff and so on. It's only natch that they want to do a little crowing. Watch out guys, don't poke the sleeping 800 pound gorilla too long. He'll eventually wake up and put a serious hurting on your ass. "Sic Transit Gloria Un Munde" If memory serves, latin for "all glory is fleeting" seems to leap to mind here. Enjoy your ratings success, revel in it. Just remember there are a lot of talented people working on Lafayette who aren't used to being #2 and won't stand for it for long, whatever the cost. And one final note to this already too long post. To the dude or dudette who posted that they worked at WDIV, and what a cesspool it is and so forth. Do yourself and your co-workers a favor and get the hell out.
Message: Sorry for the redundant second for a second sentence. And the malcontent I was referring to at the end of my missive was "bizblows". Have a great weekend Detroit.
