my first year at UO i took a management class.
A central point was that employees are not primarily motivated by salary.
They are motivated by peer pressure and the common good of their union counterparts.
Being the best paid reporter in Portland means you are paid more than other TV reporters, but less than the average car salesman at Tonkin.
I guess the pay scale for a managing editor is better.
my point? Management rules and the worker bees drool.
I listen to your employees. They aint happy.
No one has forgotten what happened to a couple reporters during negotiations last contract. And the photogs. sheesh.
Save the management flag waving.
When Tracy B hits retirement, the big 8 will start to sink fast.

By the way the if you dont like it leave motto was a favorite of Herr Charles Moose during his dictatorship of the PPB.
