Hate to admit it...but sharkjumper has a good point. TV in this market does tend to take the headlines from the paper and make them their "own" at 5 and 6. Although Spokane does have a couple of good tv and radio reporters who know how to dig up a story on their own...rip and read seems to be the trend in most news rooms these days. |

I think Spokane does less "ripping from the headlines" than a lot of other markets I've worked in. I think Spokane does that sometimes, but the Spokesman also gets stories from TV here. I know in my newsroom, there's a tendency to not do a paper story unless there's absolute reason to (like this one)
