Phil Hartman subbing for Larry King?
Guess LK had had one of his heart attacks. PH played the role of host like it was a character. He looked like someone from Devo. (Black turtleneck, if I recall) He was very Zen. But he asked great questions and played off his guests beautifully. Had he not died (huge loss) and done a couple more of those hits as guest host, who knows what he would have done?
OK, back to Marty Short. Anybody who doesn't think this guy is a North American treasure doesn't get it. Of course, Glick is obnoxious, repellent. Guess you don't get it. I didn't get Ed Grimley after the first 5 minutes. But Short can do anything; remember, he had a talk show. Maybe he was ahead of his time, maybe Ellen does it better.
Well anyway, King's wife got a kick out it.
