The Spokesman will NOT win any awards for their work. They worked a story. They didn't do anything special. And their method of working the story, on the website with the fictitious 18 year old, is an embarassment to journalism.
The fact is the allegations would have come out with the upcoming lawsuit. The Spokesman just reported it first. And they did so with a shocking flair...the online chats of a closeted mayor. The Spokesman will get much attention and publicity, but as for credibility, they are lacking today because they sold their soul for a big scoop story. An internship is not a gift. Anybody can be an intern. That was just an excuse for the Spokesman to print the private conversations of a sick man.

Chochomo obviously works in TV- the 'reporting' medium that couldn't break a story if it snapped in two in their 'newsroom.'
Anyone who mentions 'journalism' and 'TV' in the same breath is either naive or stupid. Take a peak at any front page at 8am and 'voila' - what do you know, the 5 o'clock news has EVERY SINGLE ONE of those stories in their 22 minutes. It's rather pathetic actually. It's no secret real reporting is done in print-- TV 'news' is for losers who can't be bothered to read.
