Anyone who knows Bruno knows his proclivity for mindless
news dollies and pretty boys.
He may talk about looking for
local bodies but more likely you'll see a whole new group
of low-paid beauty queens and
G-Q jocks. The reality is Bruno is doomed. (Turn-about, Eh Tu, Bruno??!!) KCRA OWNES the Early newscasts and if the
Lancaster wonder now running that shop doesn't muck
it up with his stupid, new
labels for talent, and the
even more stupid on-air
promos, KCRA will continue to
whomp the competition. The
CBS O & O's stink in EVERY
market in which they compete,
Sacto will be no different,
Bruno not withstanding. But
watch out if you hear the
word "bolster" !!!!! Of course, hiring Sam would be
great for the other stations.
In fact, I LIKE the Shane/
Mendonsa team...lots of folks
will watch..RIGHT. |

I haven't seen this much venom since the last Dallas post. WFAA used to say the same things, yet they slipped and both the NBC O&O, and the CBS O&O, whom they claimed 'stink' crept up and overtook a station that whomped the competition. I've seen KCRA, and they have a solid news product, but that's no reason to rest on your laurels and hope that your reputation will let you ride.
CBS O&O's stink in every market? Nothing against Sacramento, but have you looked at them all? Have you lived in all the O&O markets? I've seen quality stuff from both Dallas and Denver, to name two. They may not be #1, but there's no reason to say they all stink. Some of it is better than the stuff I see in Sacramento.
Change can be good. It's good for competition, it's good for the market.
