News Directors are NOT YOUR FRIENDS! They are not your confidants and believe me when shit hits the fan they will NEVER have your back. Their job is ratings and it's not personal. Your addiction is personal and YOUR problem. No one elses. Do the the story with the most integrity you can muster. Hold on to your ethics and respect the privacy of those you are exposing.
I don't even know how you're getting pkg about addiction on the air, and including a recovery program into it. I tried for years to do stories and could never get anyone to come out from behind the veil of secrecy and confidentiality.
