In Reply To: Pay for any small market 1st job will be horrible, probably less than 20k. You have to look at it as going to graduate school, but you are getting paid. There will be a bunch of others in the same boat, and there are lots of ways to have fun without spending a lot of money. I'm sure there are many more folks who have moved on and up from these small markets, and later on look back with much fondness on those times. Just remember, it's an opportunity to learn, so be sure you do.
Message: Panama City, Florida (great beach) Sarasota, Florida (even though it is technically market 13 as part of Tampa, it is really more like 150+) Savannah, Georgia (read the book!) Montgomery, Alabama (if you get on at WSFA you may stay a while) Anything in Mississippi (you'll only want to stay a year) Charlottesville, VA (college town with two new stations) Augusta, Albany, Macon, or Columbus, Georgia (all close enough to Atlanta to make it worth your while) Wilmington or Washington-New Bern, NC (great beach) Florence-Myrtle Beach, SC (more great beach) All have ND's used to getting kids right out of school -- they just expect hard work, and aren't surprised when you want to move on and make more money.
