WacoWx has it down... who cares? If you've gone through at least the MSU couresework and can analyze the weather and come up with a respectable forecast without looking at the NWS zone, then you're a meteoroloist.

To further NEvetmets post. If its only about titles then a MSU grad who completes the broadcast meteorology program has more of a right on TV than a degreed meteorologist. Why? Because he studied broadcasting. The BS met should work for the govt. Silly, I know but so is this subject. Its a dead horse. Get off of it.
