I would trust the guidance of soemone who was actually smart enough to pass all the real classes that train you to be a meteorologist. Not a slacker that couldn't hack it so they went for the correspondence course.
If viewers don't care, why don't we tell them and see their response? |

When a Tornado is on the way, alarms go off, sirens go off, weather folks
(which they often do) goes on the air and says "Tornado Warning!"
Tornado events are easy.
Then all the viewers go outside and look for it with their home video cameras.
